Weekly Lenten Offerings

Stations of the Cross – Wednesdays 10:30am & Thursdays 7:00pm at St. Matthew in the Little Brick Church

Remaining Lenten Times:   Wednesday March 27th and Thursday March 21st.

Please note that on Wednesday mornings, we also pray the Rosary at 10:00am.  You are welcome to join us for both devotions, or just one.

Adult Lent Group  - Tuesday evenings 6:30-7:30pm at St. Matthew – Jesus and the Eucharist

Using short videos and discussion of provided questions, this reflection group helps us explore the “big” questions of our Catholic faith – What’s our story? Who is Jesus? Am I saved? Why a church? The story of the Eucharist and more!  Contact Carol at cdaun@stmattoc.org to register.

Youth Lent Group – 1st & 3rd Sundays 11am-noon. Why do we do what we do at Mass? Stand, sit, kneel.  The same words every time.  What does it all mean? Why does it matter?   Middle and high school students are welcome to come and find out!  Contact Karin at kfelske@stmattoc.org to sign up.

Come to the Quiet: Tuesdays at St. Mary by the Lake

Step out of the busyness of our lives and come into the quiet of Prayer. Prayer resources will be available, and all are welcome to bring individual materials. No time commitment is expected, and all are welcome, whenever you can be there.
5:30pm: Stations of the Cross
6:00 pm to 6:30 pm - Angelus and Rosary are prayed.
6:30 pm-7:30 pm – The Church is open for quiet prayer and reflection.

Lenten Almsgiving

Pick up your Rice Bowl!  CRS Rice Bowl is the Lenten program of Catholic Relief Services, the official relief and development agency of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Lenten alms donated through CRS Rice Bowl support the work of CRS in more than 120 different countries each year. Twenty-five percent of donations to CRS Rice Bowl stay in the local diocese, supporting hunger and poverty alleviation efforts. Since its inception in 1975, CRS Rice Bowl has raised more than $330 million.  Please be generous as we support those near and far who are in need.  Checks can be written to St. Matthew Parish memo line: Lent CRS.

Plarn mats continue…Last year’s Lent outreach of making plarn mats for the homeless has continued!  Those who are interested in cutting, looping or crocheting to create mats, please contact Janice at the parish office for more details.  parish@stmattoc.org or ext. 120
